A justiça remete um auto de inquérito denunciando Domingos Flores, Antônio Plata e Raphael Mangas, estrangeiros, nacionalidade italiana, por passarem duas notas falsas no valor de 100$000 réis. Os réus compraram de Narcizo Gomes Mendes e Cezario Ferreira, estabelecidos na Praia dos Flecheiros , na Ilha do Governador, chegaram na praia em um bote. O Juiz julgou procedente a denúncia e condenou os réus sob artigo 240 e artigo 241 do Código Penal. Houve apelação para o Egrégio Supremo Tribunal Federal.
